Discounted Reservations are Almost Gone!

We began taking reservations for our first tree house last week. We are offering a LIMITED number of nights at a discount and they are almost GONE!

Our deal is that you can make your tree house reservations at $100 per night while we are still in the construction phase. this is reduced from the $189 normal rate once the discounted ones are gone.

As of today, we are officially 20 days into the construction and are ready to begin roughing in all the plumbing and electrical. Our completion date is still set for Labor Day weekend when we are planning an open house. Then it will be available for guest visits.

This tree house will be named "Misty View" for the hazy, misty look in the trees behind it almost every morning. It will include a queen size bed, kitchen, bathroom with a tile shower, Jacuzzi tub for 2, front and back deck, private octagon deck in a nearby tree connected by a swinging cable bridge along with typical amenities such as flat screen TV.

There are less than 10 discounted nights still available. If you want to "Sleep in the Trees" at Branson Tree House Adventures CALL US at 417-338-2500 during the hours of 9am to 5pm. All Discounted reservations must be paid in full at the time of making the reservation.

Tree House Magic

Our tree house site sits at the edge of an RV Park near several other guest cabins. It's down over the hill and in the woods a bit from all the camp area and feels very secluded, especially when you get out where the back deck will be. Still, with the construction going on it's hard to miss and we do get a fairly steady stream of curious on-lookers throughout the day.

It's fascinating to see the reaction of our "tree house tourists". We places yellow caution tape around the whole project to keep kids away when we weren't around. SO far the kids haven't been the problem. The retiree's are the ones sneaking out on the platform when no one's looking. LOL! Mostly it's safe enough. We've barricaded most of the drop offs and have most of the hand-rails at least partially done.

What's so funny about that is just how many of the seniors group are finding our project so fascinating. They get a sparkle in their eye and a big grin as they cross the "bouncy" bridge and look out the picture window opening to the woods. They all have to feel the big cedar posts on the front deck and talk about the smell of cedar and pine inside.

Quite a number of the men are retired builders and check out the craftsmanship and reminisce about their construction days. The women can't wait to cross the swinging cable bridge out to the coffee tree platform.

Who says tree houses are for kids!? Something about this project is giving life to generations old and young. It's a magical experience just seeing the expressions from our little tour groups. A seventy something lady took our tour the other day then exclaimed: "I'm leaving because you need to get back to work and get this done so I can come and stay in it!"

We aren't even done with our first one and you know what?..........It's already worth it!

The Height Issue

I have to laugh a little about this posting. From the very beginning, we have been looking forward to getting pictures of us way up in the air working on the tree house. Well tomorrow is the day! We will begin roofing our tree house tomorrow and there is only a couple of problems with that.

1. The pitch is too steep to stand on.
2. Neither of us like heights.

Why did we decide this was a good idea? Oh yeah. It's a cool tree house!

The pictures we've posted so far don't really display the height very well. At the beginning of the bridge the tree house is ground level. At the front deck, it's about 10 feet above the ground. At the back door, the floor is about 15 feet above the ground and in the coffee tree we will be about 20 feet above the ground. The roof on the other hand is 19 feet above the ground at the closest point and close to 30 feet above ground at the highest peak.

As numbers go, that just doesn't mean too much. When you find yourself hanging out over the roof peak with shingles in one hand and a nail gun in the other while hanging on with your toes, it's something quite different.

We will get some pictures and maybe a video. Just no close ups to show how terrified we are. LOL (maybe)

We begin taking advanced reservations on Monday, July 21 for dates in September and beyond. We are offering very limited discounted advanced reservation rates of $100 per night while we are completing construction. Once they are gone, the price will be $189.

16 Day Construction Update

http://www.bransontreehouseadventures.com/
We are now 16 days into construction of our first Tree House Cabin at Branson Tree House Adventures. It has reached the point where guests up in the campground cannot resist stopping by for a closer look. Some days we spend more time giving tours than we do working! One of the exciting parts about a project like this is that the plan has the flexibility of change. This has given us the flexibility to alter our design as the construction progresses an as we see opportunities for improvement.

As of now, we have been building this cabin with families in mind. Meaning that the side room would contain bunks for children. However, we seem to be getting more calls from guests requesting a more romantic "Cabin for Two". As of this moment, we can still go either way, but we will have to make the decision this coming week which way to proceed.

Our completion date is still set for September 1, 2014. This gives us a 42 day count-down to our finish line. If you would like to reserve this cabin for dates in September and beyond, you may contact us at 417-338-2500. This is the main office number to the campground and RV park, and it is where we will process all of the tree house reservations as well.

You may visit our Branson Tree House Adventures website (which is also under construction.....but usable) for more information and updates.

Misty View Taking Shape

As promised, we are increasing the updates, because our tree house is really starting to shape up. We've selected the name "Misty View" for this tree house due to the hazy mist that seems to hang in the trees in the early morning. The photo to the right was the construction progress as of day 12 of construction. The photo below was taken on day 13. We have now completed the framing and will be doing the roof this coming week.  Before that though, we have pulled a couple of trees in for duty that were removed from the power line clearing up by the entrance of the park. We have prepped them for the front roof support columns that will sit out on the deck.

This tree house features a 30 foot long suspension bridge with some nice "bounce" to it. We have an arched window for the gable, and a front and back deck. We may add a lower deck under the tree house with some amenities.

We've decided to begin taking reservations very soon and our completion date is still on target for the end of August. If you are thinking of being one of our first guests, make sure to subscribe to our tree house news to the right of the page.

See you in the Trees!

Sunset over the Tree House Site

We've been working at the tree house site for eight days. Most of it so far has been while clinging to beams and attaching support structure. This is the last picture there will be before we start the walls and roof. The front is not as high as the back from the ground. We are building on a slope that makes the front deck about nine feet off the ground where the back deck is close to twenty feet above the ground.

The bridge leading out to the tree house is level and has about three inches of "bounce" in it. So far we have one tree up through the front deck. It looks like there will be three trees extending through the back deck.

This project is about ready to start taking shape and the design features we've been toying around with are about to start showing.  We still project the completion date to be around mid to late August. We've already begun stocking materials for Tree House 2!
